Junior Secondary School

Junior Secondary education is completed in three years under the competency-based curriculum (CBC) system. Junior Secondary School, JSS, is from grade 7 to 9. CBC is the country’s education system .

ECD & Primary

The learners from pre-primary 2 will join lower primary in grade 1 at about 6 years of age and spend 3 more years in this part of Early Years Education before exiting to middle school at the end of grade 3

About CBC

CBC (COMPETENCY BASED CURRICULUM )

CBC syllabus was introduced in Kenya in 2017. The 2-6-3-3-3 curriculum progresively replaces the 32-year-old 8-4-4 system. KICD was responsible for the research and development of the CBC (Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development). Every student must go through a minimum of 17 levels, with each class lasting one year. They’ve been divided into four groups by the KICD.
