About CBC
The Competence-Based Curriculum (CBC) is an educational strategy implemented in the country as part of ongoing educational reforms. CBC was launched in 2017 and is now being implemented across the country. The new curriculum moves the emphasis of education away from exam-based systems and toward the development of skills and capabilities. It is intended to foster learners’ holistic development by concentrating on their talents, interests, and abilities.
The 2-6-3-3-3 curriculum developed by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) after rigorous research is progressively replacing the 8-4-4 system. In the new system, every student must go through a minimum of 17 levels.
CBC aims to shift the focus to learner competency, a flexible curriculum with opportunities for specialization, a balance between formative and summative assessment, excellence and increased emphasis on education and learning. It is a value-based system with guiding principles and guided by sound theoretical approaches. Learners from this system are expected to emerge with seven core competencies: Communication and Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving, Imagination and Creativity, Citizenship, Digital Literacy, learning to learn and self-efficacy

PEE General Programme
Parents play a crucial part in their children's holistic growth and development at all stages of life. Parental Engagement and Empowerment (PEE) are key to the success of CBC education delivery. CBE's International PEE program is a training program designed to prepare parents to play an active role in their child's education and development for improved outcomes.
PEE JSS PROGRAMME
Junior Secondary School (JSS) is the educational level between Upper Primary and Senior School (SS), consisting of Grades 7, 8, and 9. JSS students range in age from 12 to 15 years old, which coincides with rapid physical, mental, and emotional growth and development.
SCHOOL OWNERS/MANAGERS PROGRAMMES
The learner of the twenty-first century is quite distinct. Schools and learning institutions must today cater to self-directed, innovative, internationally aware, informed, problem solvers, civically engaged, critical thinkers, and financially and economically literate learners as well as their parents.
