Parental Engagement and Empowerment (PEE) is critical in supporting children with special needs and disabilities. When parents are empowered and actively involved in their child’s life, their child’s general growth, well-being, and ability to thrive improves.
Special needs education, under CBC, endeavors to provide inclusive and tailored education for students with diverse learning needs. Teachers at CBC use differentiated instruction strategies to modify the curriculum and teaching methods to fit the particular needs of each student. The curriculum stresses the development of skills, talents, and functional knowledge that are relevant to the specific strengths and goals of special needs children.
A multidisciplinary approach is used, with specialists such as special education teachers, therapists, counselors, and other support workers participating. These specialists work together to provide appropriate interventions, and assistive technologies to help students learn and grow.
Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs are developed and implemented by CBC. An IEP is a customized document that describes the student’s learning objectives, specific adjustments or changes, and the necessary support services. The IEP is created cooperatively by the student’s parents, teachers, and other educational professionals. Under CBC, parents are therefore considered as crucial partners in special needs children’s education.
CBE International PEE Program for Special Needs Education (SNE) is a participatory, reflective, and experiential training that is designed to provide knowledge, skills, and attitudes about how to support children with special needs and disabilities to parents and stakeholders in order to ensure every party understands their role in the learner’s education and development.
